Hi, I’m Elias from Formant Audio. I’ve got a long and eclectic history as a producer; from creating demos for my early songs at music school in 2009, to mainstream commercial radio success across North America, and most places in between. I’ve scored independent short films and full length movies, had work featured on networks like HBO, MTV, and Food Network. I’ve created small budget podcast intro clips in my home studio to full scale country music productions at CBC soundstage in Toronto.

Though mostly working in country, folk, and rock, recent productions include pop, hip-hop, and R&B projects. My lo-fi ambient artist project ‘Formant’ has millions of streams across online platforms, and my self-produced work under ‘Elias James’ has garnered thousands of spins on SiriusXM’s Top of the Country station. My recent work on ‘Heavy On Me’ with Andy Penkow was used for a nationwide ad campaign by the Australian Koala Foundation, and songs I’ve written recently have won two NSAI Awards and one from Country Music Alberta.

Operating out of my home studio, with partnerships at several other major studios around Toronto, I’m able to offer flexible rates on single song, EP, or full album productions.
